Biking

Tuolumne County offers a variety of road and mountain biking. Stanislaus National Forest has many trails and fire roads to entice any level of mountain biker. Fire roads to explore for the beginner and single track options for the more advanced rider. There are trails near the town of Sonora as well as many choices in and around New Melones Reservoir. If road biking is your choice, riding around some of the historic towns is great fun. You can also do some more strenuous rides up into the high country and over mountain passes. From the foothills to the mountains, there is biking for the whole family.

A portion of the Satinslaus National Forest is located within Wilderness Boundries. No mechanized vehicles are allowed within Wilderness areas. Be aware of this and watch for signs.
